Good morning, dear judges. I’m the number 5candidate. It’s my great honor to be here to share my lesson with all of you. Today, my topic is “Where did you go on vocation?”. I will begin my lesson.

 

Good morning, boys and girls, Welcome back to school! Did everyone have a good time during the summer vacation?Wow, it's wonderful. You must have been to many nice places. So someone willing to share with us your vacation?

Fabulous, Lily went to Singapore, it’s a very beautiful city. Thanks for your presentation. Sit down please. Anyone else want sharing to us?

Tom, where did you go on vocation? Great, Thailand, it’s a hot city, but have nice food. Thanks for your sharing, too. Sit down please.

 

Now, I have a very nice song want sharing with all of you. We can sing together. Are you ready? 1.2.3 go.

We All Go Travelling By

I spy with my little eyes,

It’s a nice song. Our vocation is very nice, too. I believe today's class must be great. Because we are going to learn where did you go on vacation?

Before we start pre-reading this content , I have 2 questions for you.

First, can you tell me what activities tourists can do in Malaysia?

And second, according to what we discussed before, guess what is the passage mainly about?

 

Thanks for your answers, the tourists can go to beach and ride bicycles in Malaysia….and so on.

All of you are very good.

 

Now I need all of you to do skimming read, then scanning read, at last careful reading to solve our main question, what does the author say?

 

Listen carefully, dears. Firstly, the skimming reading, you will listen to the tape to fish for some basic information of Jane’s Diary. After that, you will look through this passage to check the predictions are right or not.

 

Secondly, you will read second time to find out the answer for me. The question is

(1)What activities did Jane and her family do and see in Malaysia?

(2)What and why they did these activities? (Repeat two times)

 

Thirdly, Boys and girls, you need do careful reading to find out What does the author mean? And underling the key words

 

(12mins) Everyone are all finished?  Hurry up, Jim. Perfect, all of you did good jobs.

 

 

Ok, we are going to the Post-reading, e can see the passage is written in a narrative style. And there are actually two diaries. One is 15th July, mainly about the happy activities, the other is15th July, mainly about the sad activities. Now let’s change it into a conversational style. In other words, let’s work in pairs and make a dialogue about Jane's diaries in our own words.

 

Who would like to have a try? Bravo, Anna and Sam. Come here please…..Both of you are great. Come back your sit and sit down, please.

 

Look the blackboard, I found out all of you are very good. But I want to know some more informations, for example, if you have the chance to take a trip, what activities you want to do? (板书)

You, please. You' re so clever! It’s school bus. Today, let' s talk a little bit more specifically about vocation in China. Today we are going to write a topic about your vocation.

 

In the pre-writing, I want you to act like a foreigner who did your vocation in Chine. You meet each other at airport on your way home. I need you divide in pairs and talk about where you come from? where did you go on vacation? What did you do on vocation? for example:

R-Hi, my name is Rose.

J-Hi, my name is Joe, where did you go on vacation?

R-I went to Beijing.

J-Oh, I went to Nanjing, did you do anything special in Beijing?

R-Yes, I went to the Great wall.

I will give you guys 5mins, then I will invite two groups come to show us.

 

When you have any spell or pronounce question? Put up your hands, I will come to help you.

Sam, Malaysia is spell M-A-L-A-Y-S-I-A, good.

Be careful, here we don’t use do, it’s did, because the action is past, Anna. Good jobs

 

Bravo, Lily’s group and Jim’s group are all get one flower. Thanks, and sit down please.

Do you find out our sentence is all use the simple paste tense, because this vocation we all did last two weeks. So, when we said past action or things, we need use simple past tense. Good

 

Now we are going to the while-writing, open your book the page 8. Find out the first activity in Self check then complete it. It’s a revision indefinite pronoun activity. I will ask 5 groups to read it, who read good and correct will get one flower for his or her group.

Sara, Jim, Tom, Anna, Joe’s group got one follows. Good jobs, bravo.

 

Please complete the activity 2, be careful the simple past tense.

Everyone is finished? Hurry up, please exchanging your book for correct with your classmate.

Now we are reading together. 1.2.3 go. Good jobs guys.

But be careful find the past simple tense is found. F-O-U-N-D, speak with me, found. Great.

 

I will give you guys 10mins to write an article about your vocation, you can act like a foreigner travel in China, or you can just represent your real vocation. Look at the PPT, there is some question will help you:

Where did you go? Did you go with anyone? How was the weather? What did you do these days? What food did you eat? What did you like best? Did you dislike anything? How did you feel about the vocation?

 

(after 10mins) Please revise your article in two mins, be careful the spell of words, the simple past tense. And now did one exchange with your classmate, find out the advantages of theirs’s writhing and learn it. Anyone have can put up your hands, I will give a help.
